TOTAL CONSECRATION

                                                            TOTAL CONSECRATION

The giving of one’s self whole and entire to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the form of a slave, to live for Mary, in Mary, with Mary and through Mary. We Consecrate ourselves to Jesus through Mary because Mary is the shortest, the quickest and the easiest means of coming to Jesus. According to St. Louis de Montfort Mary is only a means by which we attain our last end which we seek and is Jesus. Mary a mere creature of God like every other created human, but it pleases the Most Holy Trinity that she may be the God bearer “Theotokos”.
Elevated above mankind for the unique role she played in the salvific mystery through her joys at the Anounciation and at the Nativity of Our Lord and Master Jesus, the unique place she played in the ministry of Jesus and in the life of the apostles after the resurrection of Jesus, for the sorrows she shared in the passion and death of Jesus and at the station when Son and Mother met and for the unique role she played in the early Church, Mary is according to St. Louis de Montfort a mould that produces the person of Our Lord Jesus in any soul she lives in union with her beloveth spouse the Most Holy Spirit, Spirit of Love.
Total Consecration, “I am all thine my Queen, my Mother and all that I have is thine” with these words we Consecrate ourselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary or to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary.
By making the 33days Total Consecration exercise according to St. Louis de Montfort, we give to Mary all that we possess be it our spiritual goods and our material possessions, it is as to say that we belong to Mary and all that we possess are for the service of Mary in the form of a slave giving all to Mary that we may in turn receive from Mary her Son Jesus Christ.
St. John 19:26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son.
27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.
At Consecration, we take Mary for our own that is why we do all things for Mary, with Mary, in Mary and though Mary. At Consecration we give all to Jesus through Mary our mother because we know that Jesus will always accept what ever gift her mother offers no matter how sinful I maybe.
